Merchant Cost Forgiveness
Advance Program

This advance program supports small businesses’ recovery from the COVID-19 disaster economic impacts by providing accessible and finance capital.

In response to pandemic, small business owners and nonprofit organizations in all U.S. states, can apply for the Merchant Cost Forgiveness Advance (MCF Advance).

Program overview

The Merchant Cost Forgiveness Advance provides funds amount up to $500,000 from SBA Lynx Payment's Capital Partner and long-term merchant cost forgiveness with card brand fees return ratios up to 300%. Even if you have previously received the original MCF in the full amount of $11,000, you may be eligible for the Merchant Cost Forgiveness Advance if you meet eligibility criteria.

Completing the MCF application is a requirement to be considered for the MCF Advance.

Before applying, make sure your small business meets the following eligibility criteria:

  • Is located in a low-income community. The business address must be in a low-income community to qualify so SBA Lynx Payment encourages potential applicants to check the map to see if they meet the low-income community eligibility requirement before they apply.

  • Can prove more than a 50% economic loss during an eight-week period beginning on March 2, 2020, or later, compared to the same period of the previous year. Applicants need to provide gross monthly revenue (all forms of combined monthly earnings received, such as profits or salaries) from January 2019 to the current month-to-date.

  • Merchant Account MID has been active the Merchant Cost Forgiveness. Businesses must have an active account in the processing system of the merchant bancard network, and will be checked by SBA Lynx Payment through applications and interviews.

  • Has 100 or fewer employees.

Business entities normally eligible for the Merchant Cost Forgiveness program are eligible to apply. This includes sole proprietors, independent contractors, and for-profit organizations. Agricultural enterprises are not eligible.

Discover- Data Usage Fee, International Service Fee. 

American Express-Card-Not-Present (CNP) fee, International Assessment.

Eligibility Requirements


Do business in the U.S.

The business is physically located and operates in the U.S. or its territories.


Have invested equity

The business owner has invested their own time or money into the business.


Have an activated MCF account

The business has an activated Merchant Cost Forgiveness Account (First Draw or Second Draw).

Applicant Requirements

All new Merchant Cost Forgiveness Program will have the different terms.

  • Business Voided Check

  • Processing Statement
